Residents argued for lower density
From the Highlands Current By Jeff Simms The nine-month-long debate over rezoning seven parcels within Beacon’s high-density “linkage zone” may have reached its conclusion, with the City Council voting Oct. 17 to rezone all seven. Two parcels owned by St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on South Avenue have been downzoned to medium-density residential, while two properties on Wolcott Avenue (Route 9D) have been rezoned to low-density residential. The Beacon Historical Society recently announced plans to move into the former St. Andrew’s rectory at 17 South Avenue. read more...
