The City of Beacon is taking steps to slow its growth while it searches for a new water source. The City Council unanimously passed a six-month moratorium on residential and commercial development, a decision prompted by concern over the strain an recent influx of residential development could take on the city's water supply. "I think we listened to the people," said City of Beacon Mayor Randy Casale, of the local law to enact a moratorium, which the council passed on Monday.
